"Between the people and the representatives there has been built up a political machine which is master of both." -- Robert M. La Follette

Voting is one of the most important duties of a citizen in a representational democracy. With pitiful voter turnout, our representatives will never truly represent the will of the people. Elected officials should expand access to the polls, and encourage people to vote.

Electoral campaigns should be publicly and equally funded, money has no place in politics.

Election day should be a holiday. What better way to celebrate our democracy and encourage all citizens to vote?
